Can you remember what you were doing June 22nd, 1993? Most of us will not be able to remember. A few of you might actually remember to a vivid degree.

Good Friday, 1988 I remember quite well what I was doing. And it has something to do with yesterday's post about dreams.

As it was a Friday, and the dance school was always closed on Fridays, I looked forward to a whole day of being able to be with my then 8 month old baby girl, my first born and I couldn't wait to clean our cute little starter home which we had JUST moved into the previous October.

Around 2pm I finally finished all my chores and little Virgo girl was down for her nap. I took out a stenographer pad and a pen (this was '88 and there WERE NO COMPUTERS KIDS!!!! (Believe it OR NOT !!) And I started to write an outline for a children's book entitled, "She Chose Beau" It was going to be about a group of bunny-children. It was a story (told a million times, granted!) about appreciating someone for who they are, not what they have or what they look like. By the time the ex came home at 6pm, my story was written and the sloppy copy typed on my manual typewriter.

A few weeks ago, while I was regrouping and reorganizing this house (preparing for getting the house ready to sell...)I came across the sloppy copy. I read it and remembered the day I wrote it. I was 26 years old, living a wonderful cozy life with a man I loved and enjoying being a new mommy and wife. I had every intention of one day seeing this story become a book.

Nineteen years later....my little girl is almost twenty years old. That house was sold a few years ago and was leveled and someone else built a new home on the plot. The ex? Well he lives in FL with my two youngest kids. I no longer teach dance. And I haven't followed through in my intention to get this story to book form.

"I had every intention"? Fuck that. I didn't have ENOUGH intention. Had I, I would have. What is my intention in regards to following through with dreams?

.... I'm in a place in my life, at this moment where it's not the right time to do anything physically about many of my dreams...except for the one where I DREAM about being 120 again...soon... but for the other dreams...they will have to wait a LITTLE longer....but damn it, certainly NOT another nineteen years!

Yesterday was the anniversary of Martin Luther King's assassination. Did you know that? I didn't remember. I was only 6 at the time and so much importance is put on his birth.

Anyway...do YOU have a dream? I think someone can have many different kinds of dreams! I have a global dream (peace!) I have a national dream (bring the troops home.)

I have a dream for my children (health and happiness)

I have a dream for my fiance (good health, happiness and to finally write that book he has inside.)

I have a dream or two for me:

1.)To die peacefully when the time comes.
2.)To be content while I'm living.
3.)To be able to help others through my love of acting and through the use of my voice (voice over) as well as perhaps my writing?

Dream With Me....

In a few minutes or tomorrow (the 4th) you will see as my new icon, a photo of my very first best friend. She and I met when I was 8 years old. She's been loyal, never left my side, never judgmental and has seen me grow and change these past 37 years!

She's my stuffed bunny, Ester! When I first moved to Germany, our maid, Olga felt bad that a lot of my belongings (toys) hadn't arrived yet (Army family/army moving/army redtape) so she whipped Ester up and I fell in love instantly!! I named her "Ester" because it sounded like "Easter" I didn't know it was a real name...I didn't know it was from the Bible!! I was only a kid.

Can you really feel "love" for a stuffed animal? Or is it just a real strong ownership attachment. I don't know. Am I nuts? But I'll tell you one thing...if I lost her or she burned up in a fire, I'd be heartbroken! She goes on all of those dreaded road trips and on other trips. She is never far away. Right now she's on my computer desk.

She is missing half an ear and an eye and I've had to stitch her little tail back on a few times but she's still as beautiful as the first time I saw her.

In honor of Easter, here she is...my loveable Ester!

Do you have a special stuffed animal from your childhood? What is it? What's it's name?

I've BEEN TAGGED--and it feels SOOOO good!

Not much time...here's my quickie post for the day!

THE FOLLOWING FIVE THINGS THAT I WAS TOLD AND NEVER FORGOT WERE TOLD TO ME BY MY DAD, CARL.

HE WAS A MAN OF FEW WORDS WHEN IT CAME TO PREACHING, SERMONIZING...HE WAS MOSTLY ABOUT ACTION AND DEED.

GONE 20 YEARS THIS AUGUST...HIS WORDS AND DEEDS..HIS LEGACY...CONTINUES...AS I'VE ALSO USED THESE EXPRESSIONS WITH MY KIDS AND MY FORMER PRESCHOOL STUDENTS!!!

EAT IT OR WEAR IT ON YOUR HEAD!

BITE, CHEW AND SWALLOW!

TAKE A PRECAUTIONARY BEFORE YOU GO! (GO PEE BEFORE YOU LEAVE!)

CLOSE YOUR EYES RUBBLE, NOW DOES THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN MATTER???? NO, IT'S A PERSON'S VALUES, NOT THEIR COLOR, RACE OR CREED.

KEEP YOUR NOSE OUT OF IT, KEEP YOUR NOSE CLEAN AND KEEP YOUR NOSE TO THE GRINDSTONE.

I WISH I HAD FOLLOWED THAT ONE MORE IN MY LIFE....

QuoteDiva sez: "Human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives." -William James (1842 - 1910)

As promised....inspired by Randy!.....Celebs I've met or spoken to.... (NO APRIL FOOLIN'!)

Saw Marlo Thomas and Alan Alda when they came to our city (mom was a half hearted woman's libber (she still wore her bra and waited on dad hand and foot! But by the same token...she did not hesitate to take me to a rally for such a movement!!! GO MOM!!! She straddled being a good mom/wife of the 50s/60s/70s and a progressive thinker that thought a woman deserved to be treated fairly!!!)

Met Robert Joffrey and Melissa Hayden at dance conventions as a teen.

For some strange unknown reason I had occasion to meet the gruff and rough around the edges, Richard Boone, star of 50s show, "Have Gun Will Travel." He was in my dance studio...I don't know why?! Mom introduced me to him. Wish mom was here to ask, why? How? He looked like a bum.

Ya'll remember my story about dancing on stage with Lou Christie with my zipper undone, circa '83.....he was a singer famous for his falsetto voice in the 60s...His BIGGEST hit was, "Lightning Striking Again."

Dance teacher and boss grabbed me and ran over and forced me to get Allan Fawcett's autograph. (I know, Allan who?) He had a show in the 80s...."Lips Inc." It was a lip synching show. (I almost made it on doing a song by Teena Marie--"LoverGirl") He was a snob. Hell man, I didn't even WANT your stinking autograph.

And like I said, I saw Alan Alda at Reagan International last may...he crossed right in front of me and went to the bathroom. He looked like my father would have if he was still alive. Gray hair...bald spot. Not the dashing Hawkeye Pierce we grew up with! Took a pic of the back of his head as he sat and waited for his flight. I wish I could have gotten HIS autograph but that's the last thing they need, right!?

And finally, Elizabeth Parkinson (star of Broadway) google her if you want to know more about her. She and I danced together as teens. She started off not knowing anything and I was a level higher than her but you know...some people are destined for greatness...in three years time she took off and now some 30 years later....she's on Broadway former star of "Movin' Out" and "Fosse" But I "knew her when"... But her success was worked for and couldn't have happened to a nicer girl. So there...

There...that post DONE!

And how about you guys? Who have you met?
