Pretty Rubble: One Woman's Story

 Blog-A-Licious!!!
Back to Full Blog

Yesterday, in a comment to Deeej, I described Blogstream's blogs as being like a "veritable buffet" of dishes, both main and side as well as desserts (and let's throw in drinks, both adult and non alcoholic!) that I enjoy on a somewhat regular basis. I go to one blog and get a taste of this....I go to another blog and get a plate of that etc...

If you were to liken your blog to something on the buffet table, what would it be?

Mine? Well, I think I would describe mine as Sushi! Granted, not everyone's cup of (green) tea...

...kinda' bland on it's own (safe, unassuming, non-confrontational) but peppered with soy sauce and spiced with a little wasabi! (sometimes naughty or 'spicy' language and innuendo!)

Now if I bellied up to the buffet table (aka YOUR BLOG!), what would I be tasting, nibbling, sipping and/or savoring?!
SUSHI

"Is that the big azz sushi you just made or are ya' just glad to see me!?"

Rubble,
You are right sushi is not my cup of tea. I'm very picky when it comes to any seafood. But anyhoo, I came by to say thanks for all of your kind words, and I am very glad you liked my post. Stop by anytime!

Hey Crone..I didn't even knew I liked it until my ex boyfriend introduced me to it in '02...up until then I thought..."SUSHI? " But once I had some...I was hooked!

I'm not into green tea however....

Hey, thanx for the mention, my friend! As for sushi, no thanx. And I did try it...my daughter insisted on taking me out one afternoon and dared me to give it a go. Not one to back down from a dare, I choked down some of the stuff, with wasabi. Never again. But, at least nobody can tell me, "how do you know if you don't like it, if you don't try it?" Now we know.

I don't think I'll be biting into that Sushi!!!!!!!

Great question, Rubble! I suppose my buffet table would be something along the lines of corned beef and cabbage. Don't worry.........you'll smell it long before you see it! I'd love the company though....so pull up a chair and of course there will be some Guiness Stout there to drink.......warm, dark and woody tasting!

I'm with you mah sistah'....Sushi is NOT for everyone! But then I figured neither is my particular blog! You know, right now I'm being reminded of brussel sprouts. Until my fiance came along, I HATED, nay, despised brussel sprouts! Mom used to serve them and I'd literally GAG on them but I HAD to eat them. So as an adult, I never touched them UNTIL a few months ago when he made them his special way. I went 45 years hating them and in one fell swoop, I came to LOVE 'EM! Mom, wherever you are, you know I love you but.. your sprouts sucked!

Hey Mr. Ron-I'm sure it was photo shopped BUT what if that was a REAL piece of Sushi!? OMG ACK! I mean hey, I like Sushi as much as the next Sushi lover but that's even too much for me!

I love it when we have Irish nite at our house! The smell of the cabbage doesn't bother me! But dang it, I've sworn off beer for the past few months to help with my weight...(but for you, I'd bend my rule and have one,...just to be neighborly! ) (We like a good stout!)

Your blog is something warm and comforting...yeh, comfort food! Like a hug on a plate!

I think my blog would be like a warm bowl of chicken noodle soup with a few dilled oyster crackers on the side. Warm and comforting with a zip of snazzy fun on the side.

Bear Hugs!

That is EXACTLY what your blog is like! And as it's a bit gloomy and drizzly today here in the Nation's Capital (isn't it always, political-wise ) your blog would "hit the spot!"

I'd have to say that my blog is more like a breakfast burito. All kinds of crap rolled up into one big belly ache

OMG Sybil, others may comment about what their blog is like food-wise (or they won't!) But hands down, your description will be the one to beat! You set the burrito, er BAR high!!! And hysterically!!

Awesome description! Puts my big azz Sushi to shame!!!

Leave it to Sybil!

Hi Rubble,
I just wanted to stop by and say hello, as well as invite you to visit my blog. I feel like I want everyone know how *very* much I appreciate all the words and thoughts of wellness. So I've posted something that came from my heart. Thank You!

Rubble,
Somehow I never equated your blog with sushi, if only because I don't like sushi.

Well there you are you Mr. O!!! (You got a mention in my previous post...)

But anyhoo... o.k., it might not be really sushi...but I thought it was more exciting and exotic than the meatloaf and mashed potatoes with a slice of key lime pie I REALLY think it's like.

So glad to see you again!

"see"...you know what I mean!

Rubble (still livin' in and hatin' on DC)

Rubble,
Interesting post...and idea.

Hmmm...I'd have to say my blog would be more like a taco salad or a casserole...Lots of stuff thrown together to hopefully leave a pleasing taste if someone partakes of it.

A taco salad? I LOVE taco salads! Guacamole, sour cream, cheese, beans, in a bit taco shell...YUM! I know it's only 7:30 in the morning but I could actually eat one RIGHT NOW!!

And so often I go to your blog and after reading your posts, I smile, just like I do in anticipation of a taco salad!

My blog varies. Sometimes it is a nibble, and at other times it is the main course.

Wow... what a question, Rubble!!!!

What food is my blog like???? geesh... well, the first thing that comes to mind is meatloaf. You can put A LOT of different things in meatloaf, yet, it's pretty hard to screw it up, know what I mean? Meatloaf just tastes like.... meatloaf.....that with potatoes and gravy, and a few veggies on the side with homemade bread. Yeah, I think that perhaps that describes my blog. tee hee....

Well that got me thinking... what on earth am I going to make for dinner tonight?

Happy Friday!
Cheers! ~MacKenzie

by Mackenzie90 (PM , CC ) on Friday May 9, 2008 @ 2:26 PM

Well my first thought Mackenzie is...MEATLOAF...?!

I don't know if you noticed, but I did mention that in one of my comments, I mentioned I really probably was more like...MEATLOAF! (I misspelled that, it came out,...meatload!! LOL WTF

Sometimes I can be such a meatload!

I'm with you, meatloaf and for me mashed potatoes really does say RUBBLE more than Sushi...but damn it, it's not everyday you can post a crazy photo of the world's biggest sushi on your blog! I HAD TO be "Sushi" even if it was only for one post!

I'm really harmless as meatloaf, and full of meat (around my middle!)

Lately, since I mostly talk about being at the ballfield for softball games, mine prolly tastes like a hot dog - sometimes with kraut, something with relish....

by Secret (PM , CC ) on Friday May 9, 2008 @ 4:28 PM

Well Rubble, my blog is tasteful, although some times I have been known to season it more than I should..also like to try new diets at least once..like corn and peas, seeing as there are a lot of "vegetables" out there ..try not to be picky but am..especially about my meat have a sense of humor when it comes to my color coordinating of my meals. I am not a separater of my food type person..it all goes down the same way..so peas on top of mashed potatoes is great..So, I figure my blog passes the all around taste test..

Russian Chicken? Sounds so exotic!!! Are you of Russian heritage? Is this a family recipe? I hate to sound so naive! I thought I've had every way of having chicken known to man....so this is a new one on me!

Fiance just called, he's bringing home...chicken...rotisserie...I'm sure it won't be as good as your Russian bird, but hey, it's dinner!

My oldest daughter and I are on this crazy Sushi marathan.

Last Sunday we went to the Hoboken Arts Festival (NJ)..
awesome !
We bought a bottle of wine and ate Sushi at an outdoor restaurant,
talked, laughed and people watched.

And then after being inspired...bought some art.

What more could you ask for ?

I like plum wine with my sushi...

And just a certain amount of wasabi...oh that stuff "hurts" so good!

But if you get too much...

damn that shit hurts!

I was here early this morning to read this and didn't have time to answer it. I kinda think I'm the Ham with a side of beans and corn.
